Bruno Alves has been linked with a move to Barcelona all summer as the Catalan club are understood to be in the market for an experienced centre-back.
After failing in their attempts to sign Shakhtar Donetsk's Dmytro Chygrynskiy, Alves is reportedly high on Barcelona's shortlist, along with Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany.
And while Alves, a starter for Portugal in yesterday's friendly fixture with Liechtenstein, confirmed to be content with life at Porto, he has refused to rule out a new challenge for economical reasons.
"I have a contract with FC Porto, I have said everything I had to say," he told TVI after Portugal's match.
"I am ambitious and any person would like to improve their living conditions."
Alves, who is a product of Porto's youth ranks, has a €30 million buy-out clause attached to his contract.
