TANGERANG: The Tangerang Regency Environmental Agency (BLHD) said Monday it had suspended the operations of 13 factories located along the Cisadane riverbank, for allegedly polluting the river.
Agency head Odang Masduki said the factories had allegedly polluted the local environment with waste, and did not have environmental management scheme (UKL) or environmental monitoring scheme (UPL) permits.
Odang said the administration would revoke their permits should they fail to improve their waste treatment standards
