JAKARTA: It’s good for your health and for the environment: MTV VJ Ben Kasyafani knows exactly why he chooses cycling for fun despite all the sophisticated high-tech electronic toys on offer.
In the past few months, the 26-year-old says, his bicycle has been his favorite toy, accompanying him everywhere, morning or afternoon, during his spare time.
His new hobby, he says, started by chance.
“My dad actually bought that bicycle for exercise,” says the boyfriend of actress Marshanda.
“But no one at my home used it, so I thought, why shouldn’t I use it for some fun?” he adds.
Ben rediscovered a love for cycling around his housing complex as a form of relaxation, as well as a form of transportation to get to the fitness center.
“Actually, just like other boys, I loved cycling when I was a kid,” says Ben, now also a law student at Pelita Harapan University in Tangerang. “But when I got older, I didn’t have much time [for cycling].
“But it’s great that I can cycle again now,” smiles Ben, who was a radio DJ for Prambors FM in Jakarta before becoming a finalist in the 2007 MTV VJ Hunt.
