Exclusive: Celtic Scout India's Sunil Chhetri Though Trial Unlikely

The Dempo player, who has only just recovered from his ankle injury, scored the first half penalty against Santboia FC, a third division Spanish club, which was the difference between the two sides.

While the head scout of Celtic saw Chhetri on Monday, another talent inspector was present when India played Santboia FC.

It is too early however to even claim that the Scottish giants are after Chhetri.

Speaking to Goal.com, Chhetri’s agent, Yogesh Joshee said, "I'm waiting to get feedback from Celtic, whose head scout saw him on Monday.

"Another scout came to watch the game (against Santboia), I'll let you know the outcome when I know."

Chhetri has returned to return to India from Barcelona along with the rest of the squad. The team will set up a camp in Gurgaon from August 12 in preparation for the Nehru Cup which kicks off a week later.

The tournament ends on August 31, the final day of the European summer transfer deadline, hence making the possibility of a trial, if the club are indeed interested, very slim.
