Bandung Technology Institute (ITB) is set to dispatch a special team to investigate an alleged role of its nine students in a jockey ring that helped would-be students doing their entrance test in Makassar Wednesday.
Tempointeraktif.com reported Sunday that the team would consist of three people and would leave for Makassar this afternoon.
Nanang Puspito, one of the team members, said that the team would be scheduled to meet with the Hasanuddin Rector on Monday.
Widyo Nugroho Sulasdi, Deputy Rector of the ITB for students and alumnae, said that the tean would also hold a meeting with Makassar Police Office to know whether or not the students' status as suspects.
Adang Surahman, Deputy Rector of ITB for Academic Affairs, said that he had yet to know from which faculties those suspects were.
“But they are smart students and have high index of performance (IP),” Adang said.
He said that the ITB would evaluate levels of the students faults as a benchmark for giving them academic sanctions.
